Christmas might be in full swing, but we’re not about to let the party season end and the dust settle when the New Year rolls in after December!

At The Rose & Crown Colchester we’ve already lined up some great evening entertainment throughout the year to keep our hotel guests and locals in the party mood in 2019.  And we’ll be adding even more events to our calendar as the year progresses, so be sure to follow us on Facebook, as well as checking our website blog regularly for all our latest news and updates.

For now though, here’s a look at three fantastic tribute acts we’ve already lined up to perform at the Rose & Crown for the New Year.

Friday 28th June 2019

It was a tragic start to 2016, when David Bowie very sadly passed away on January 10th, but we’re pleased to know his music lives on in Bowie tribute performer Paul Antony, who tours under the name Pop up Bowie. Antony, a lifelong fan of Bowie’s music, even bears a striking resemblance to the singer and won the National Tribute Awards for his performance as the star. He’ll be rocking the Rose & Crown in June 2019, with classic Bowies hits through the ages, such as Little China Girl, Space Oddity and Let’s Dance.

Friday 27th September 2019

We won’t leave you hanging on the telephone if you call us to book a ticket to our fantastic Blondie tribute act in September. Returning to the Rose & Crown for another year, Bootleg Blondie always gets our guests up on their feet and dancing, and in 2019 this uncanny Blondie lookalike is back by popular demand. Once described as “as close to Blondie as the real thing” fans of Debbie Harry and hits such as Heart of Glass, Denis and Call Me, won’t want to miss this.

Friday 22nd November 2019

The King is making his Rose & Crown comeback in 2019, in the shape of young Elvis tribute act Mark Summers aka The Elvis Legacy. As tribute acts go this one really is as classy as they come, not only has Mark’s Elvis impersonation earned him Winner of The Number 1 Elvis Tribute at the National Tribute Awards, Mark’s even been invited to perform for Elvis’s ex Pricilla Presley four times. So by all accounts, he’s pretty good! He’ll be joining us in the run-up to Christmas 2019 in November, getting the winter evening warmed up with some of Elvis’s best-loved songs.

In addition to our three fantastic tributes acts our Rose & Crown wedding coordinator Lisa is also hosting an 80s themed CHARITY DISCO NIGHT on SATURDAY 26TH JANUARY.  Just £10pp, with our award winning DJ Buzby on the decks and all proceeds going to Lisa’s World Scout Jamboree Fund.

Come and join in for an amazing evening of disco and nostalgia!

Details of all events can be found on our Facebook page and the Events page on our website.
