So our chefs have been busy behind the scenes working up a brand new menu for our hotel bar and restaurant, that draws on some of the UK\u2019s finest ingredients, whilst combining flavours together in both classic and less familiar pairings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>New &amp; improved<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This totally revamped menu is now available daily at The Rose and Crown Hotel Colchester, and we\u2019ve already received some great and glowing reviews from our diners, who have given the new dishes a resounding thumbs up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our historic 13<sup>th<\/sup> Century Hotel is already famous as being one of Colchester\u2019s oldest buildings and Europe\u2019s oldest purpose built hotel, but with our new menu we want to put our food on the map too, creating a dining experience that matches the grandeur of eating in our centuries old building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Eat a little or a lot!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new menu offers the traditional three-course dinner option, alongside smaller dishes and sharing plates, so there\u2019s something to satisfy every appetite \u2013 whether you just fancy a quick nibble with your glass of merlot or to celebrate a special occasion with a full sit down dinner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Highlights of our starter menu include Cajun crab waffles with citrus mayonnaise, seared scallops accompanied by chorizo jam, and the mind-bending jalapeno gazpacho \u2013both cold and fiery hot at the same time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Save space for dessert<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There\u2019s a dedicated salad, pasta, grill and burger menu, while main course options include miso aubergines with giant cous cous and marmalade roast gammon ham. But you might want to save room for dessert, which offers a choice of six sweet options and a savoury cheese board, including a pecan and amaretto tart and mango panna cotta.
