The Rose Room is the largest meeting room at The Rose and Crown Hotel Colchester, ideal for large groups and company gatherings.
This meeting room is able to accommodate up to 100 people in theatre seating, 50 in a horseshoe arrangement and 60 boardroom style. The Rose Room is typically hired for larger corporate events and conferences.
Our lower ground Prison Room can cater for up to 20 delegates in a theatre formation or 14 seated boardroom style. This meeting room features an LCD projector, audio kit, whiteboard, DVD player and Wi-Fi. An intimate room that is ideal for small groups.
And yes, this meeting room used to be a working prison in the 14th century, so hopefully nobody will misbehave down here!

If you’re staying with us overnight as part of your corporate visit we’ll pull out all the stops to make your stay a memorable one. Not only will your delegates receive tea, coffee and lunch during the day, we’ll also provide overnight accommodation in one of our standard rooms, a 4-course set dinner in the hotel brasserie and a delicious full English breakfast in the morning before you leave. Our overnight package is the perfect blend of business and pleasure.

Should you require a meeting room with social distancing we would be happy to arrange this for you. We would request that all of our guests continue to wear a face covering in all public areas of the hotel.
Whether it’s checking in and out or ordering refreshments, we have invested in making our services available digitally. Meeting rooms are cleaned and fully sanitised between each use and we are operating on a card payment only system in all areas of the hotel.
Our enhanced deep cleaning programme is carried out throughout the whole hotel, perspex screens have been installed where possible and all of our team follow a policy of no physical contact, maintaining social distancing wherever possible.
We have ensured that our room layouts meet the Government guidelines however we would be happy to adapt this in accordance to your personal requirements. Rooms are cleaned and fully sanitised between each use and we are encouraging a card payment only system in all areas of the hotel.
All tables and chairs can be moved around too so you can always move further apart if the space allows it.
We have installed hand sanitising stations in all public areas of the hotel and are ensuring all touch points are sanitised after each use. Guests are required to wear a face mask in all public areas of the hotel (excludes areas such as the restaurant, bar, and bedrooms).

Excellent stay at the Rose and Crown this weekend. A warm greeting from reception awaited us. Our room was very good, clean and tidy and in keeping with the rest of the hotel. There was ample complementary tea, coffee, milk etc in the room. We ate dinner at the hotel which was equally enjoyable.
