The Rose and Crown Hotel offers a choice of unique meeting rooms in Colchester, accommodating up to 100 people. Our venue boasts excellent facilities, plenty of free parking and a superb selection of menus for lunch or dinner depending on the package.

We’re perfectly located just a short walk from Colchester town centre and Colchester train station, which connects Colchester to London. We’re fully flexible based on your needs, making us the ideal venue for your meeting, presentation, conference or any other corporate event.

Our meeting rooms can be exclusively hired for the day or on a 24-hour basis with overnight accommodation for your delegates. With your safety in mind, we’ve changed how we run meetings and events at The Rose and Crown Hotel. Our new procedures are under constant review and will always follow the latest government advice.

Contactless Service & Enhanced Cleaning

Whether it’s checking in and out or ordering refreshments, we have invested in making our services available digitally. Meeting rooms are cleaned and fully sanitised between each use and we are operating on a card payment only system in all areas of the hotel.

Our enhanced deep cleaning programme is carried out throughout the whole hotel, perspex screens have been installed where possible and all of our team follow a policy of no physical contact, maintaining social distancing wherever possible.

Meeting Room Layout

We have ensured that our new meeting room layouts meet government guidelines on social distancing to ensure you and your delegates remain safe. See our new meeting rooms capacities below.

All tables and chairs can be moved around too so you can always move even further apart if the space allows it.

Hand Sanitiser

We have installed hand sanitising stations in all public areas of the hotel and are ensuring all touch points are sanitised after each use. Guests are required to wear a face mask in all public areas of the hotel (excludes areas such as the restaurant, bar, and bedrooms).

Refreshments and Lunch

Food and refreshments can be pre-ordered from our team for pre-arranged times throughout the day. We are also able to provide packed lunches individually and safely wrapped for each delegate if you prefer.

The Rose Room

The Rose Room is the largest meeting room at The Rose and Crown Hotel Colchester, ideal for large groups and company gatherings. This meeting room is able to accommodate up to 100 people in theatre seating, 50 in a horseshoe arrangement and 60 boardroom style. The Rose Room is typically hired for larger corporate events and conferences.

The Prison Room

Our lower ground Prison Room can cater for up to 20 delegates in a theatre formation or 14 seated boardroom style. This meeting room features an LCD projector, audio kit, whiteboard, DVD player and Wi-Fi. An intimate room that is ideal for small groups, and yes, this meeting room used to be a working prison in the 14th century, so hopefully nobody will misbehave down here!
