THE PERFECT LOCATION

For the convenience of your guests, looking for wake venues near Colchester Crematorium is likely to be near the top of your wish list.

The Rose and Crown Hotel is less than a 10 minute drive from Colchester Cemetery & Crematorium and 20 minutes from Weeley Crematorium.

We have 35 parking spaces in our hotel which are first come first served. The nearest public car park is Priory Street Car Park, which is a 13 minute walk from our hotel. Our car park has flat access to all communal areas of the hotel, making it suitable for those with limited mobility.

We’re close to Colchester town centre too, so there are great public transport links for anyone arriving by train or bus. We’re just 1.6 miles from Colchester train station.

OUR FUNERAL RECEPTION VENUES

Room hire is completely FREE for all funeral receptions held at our hotel.

We offer funeral reception venues of all sizes, suitable for small intimate gatherings all the way up to 160 guests.

Audio visual equipment (LCD projector, DVD player etc) is available in all of our wake venues if you’d like to share photographs or videos on a big screen. Please ask us for more information about this.

The Rose Suite

Caters for up to 100 guests. Self-contained with its own private entrance and toilets.

The Oak Room

The Oak Room accommodates 60 guests, or open the partition doors to combine The Rose Suite, giving you room for up to 160 guests. With your own private entrance and toilets.

Tudor Bar Brasserie

Offers a more informal setting for your funeral wake, accommodating up to 60 guests.

Secret Garden

Whatever funeral venue you choose, you’ll have access to our beautiful gardens. With olive trees and calming leafy greens, it offers a tranquil outdoor space for your funeral wake.
