Colchester Zoo is one of the most famous zoos in the country and has been open since 1963. It is home to more than 200 different species of animals and is set in 60 acres of parkland and lakes.

Some of the fantastic attractions on offer include Elephant Kingdom, Feathers of The Forest, Dragons of Komodo and Chimpanzee Lookout.

Our top tip is to plan your day around the animal encounters. These include things like feeding displays, training sessions, enrichment activities or simply the chance to hear from the Animal Care Team.
