World Cup Coverage At The Rose & Crown

Published by Harj Grewal

Finally we’re into June, which in 2018 means just one thing: the start of the World Cup season! Hooray!

It feels like forever since Russia was announced as the host country for the 2018 competition. But now with just a few days until the first match (Russia V Saudi Arabia at 4pm on the 14th) we’re more excited than ever for the action to kick off!

In fact, we’re counting down the days.

Live streaming from our Tudor Bar

If you’re looking for a central watering hole in Colchester to take in all the World Cup action – live as it unfolds – then head on down to our Tudor Bar. Where we’ll be screening every single game throughout the competition. As well as match build-up beforehand and post game analysis.

We know with its ancient wooden beams, that our Tudor Hotel Bar feels like stepping back in time. But trust us, when it comes to live screening all of the World Cup action, we’re more than up to speed with all the latest hi-tech equipment to bring the games to life from Russia.

Plus, you have the added bonus of anyone behaving badly being locked up in our hotel prison (just kidding).

Enjoy our limited edition food specials

Our brasserie chefs have also been busy preparing for the action too. Coming up with a few specials that we’ll be running in our bar purely for the months of June and July, while the World Cup takes place.

These include small plates like mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and mini sausages, starting from just £3.95, to cheesy nachos (loaded with salsa, sour cream and guacamole) for less than a fiver. Together with a beer and burger combo for only £9.95! Perfect for washing down a pint with during the game.

And, if wine is your tipple of choice we’ve got you covered too. As for every two glasses of vino ordered we’ll throw in the rest of the bottle for free! Perfect, as an accompaniment to any of our small plate snacks.

Our World Cup coverage starts on the 14th June with Russia V Saudi Arabia. While England’s first match (against Tunisia) will screen on Monday 18th at 7pm.
